Installation Service for Deacons
Minister: Do you, the members of this church,
having sought divine guidance, choose the
brethren standing before me to serve as
deacons, and promise to give them honor,
encouragement, and hearty support in the
discharge of their official duties?
Congregation: We do.
(Minister shall then ask the deacons elect.)
Minister: Do you accept the office of deacon
in this church, and promise that you will
faithfully endeavor to discharge the duties
there of so as to promote the interests of
the congregation and the gospel of our Lord,
and do solemnly declare that if at any time
you should forsake your faith or become lax in
your duties, you will submit your resignation
to the congregation?
Deacons Elect: I do.
