**STATEMENT OF FAITH**
Mundell Christian Church
** We believe that Jesus is God’s one and only son, born of a virgin, and that God sent Him to earth to be the perfect and final sacrifice for sin. We believe in God’s Holy Spirit and the third part of the Trinity, with God the Father and Jesus His Son. Jesus lived a life that was without sin and was put to death by crucifixion before raising from the dead on the third day. He is the only way through which we can get to God. The Holy Spirit lives in the hearts of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. John 3:16, John 14:6, I Corinthians 15:3-4, I John 2:2, Acts 4:12, Hebrews 9:27-28, Ephesians 1:13-14, Acts 2:38 ** We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it is without error. Proverbs 30:5-6, II Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12 ** We are an independent Church with no higher governing organization. Christ is the head of the Church. We attempt in every way to follow the examples given to us by the early Church in the book of Acts. We have elders directing the spiritual affairs of the Church and appoint deacons to carry out the practical side of ministering. Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5-9, Acts 6:1-7, Ephesians 2:19-22 ** We will attempt in every way to speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where it is silent, recognizing that God is the one who gives different thought processes and ideas. On all matters, the Word of God is the final word. John 1:1, Hebrews 4:12 ** We believe that the purpose of the Church is essentially to love God and to love others. Our Christian behavior should be a reflection of these two purposes. The result of this love that we have for God and others was that we gather to praise God, teach from His Word, reach out to the hurting, minister to those who are in need, and try to lead those outside of Christ to a relationship with Him. Mark 12:28-31, I John 4:7-21, Matthew 22:34-40 ** We believe that salvation is through faith in God by His grace, not by things that we do. We cannot earn entrance into God’s family or into heaven. Salvation is a free gift from God, through His son Jesus. We see the following not as works to earn salvation, but necessary steps in the process of accepting this free gift. Romans 3:21-23, Ephesians 2:8-10 1) Believe in God and that Jesus is His son. I John 5:5, John 3:16, Hebrews 11:6 2) Repent of the sin that you have committed. Acts 2;38, Acts 3:17-19, I Peter 3:10-12 3) Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Matthew 10:32-33, Romans 10:8-10 4) Be immersed (baptized) in order to be obedient to God’s word, and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38, Colossians 2:9-12, Acts 8:36-39, Romans 6:1-14, I Peter3:21 The Book of James tells us that the faith we have, if it’s not accompanied with action, is dead. We are expected as Christians to live a life that is devoted to following Christ’s example as it is specified in the Bible. What can you expect at a Sunday Morning service here??? At Mundell there are several parts that comprise our morning service. Here are some specific parts you should expect to see in a regular Sunday morning service: Singing praise to God – Ephesians 5:19 Communion Service – We choose to do this every Sunday morning and encourage anyone who is a Christian to participate. I Corinthians 11:23-32, Luke 22:7-22 Taking up a collection – I Corinthians 16:2, Luke 6:38 The preaching of God’s Word – Acts 2:42 A time of response to the Word These vary as to their place in the service and are by no means an exhaustive list.
